St. Olave’s is pleased to invite young people to learn more about choral singing with the opportunity to sing with our choir during the Christmas 2023 season.
Working with Nadia Nikolov, a member of St. Olave’s choir and a third-year U of T music student, we will offer a free choral program consisting of four evening sessions. Singers will learn proper singing technique as well as music for the Christmas season.
The program sessions are as follows (REVISED from original schedule):
- Friday, November 10, 5 – 6 p.m.
- Friday, November 17, 5 – 6 p.m.
- Friday, November 24, 5 – 6 p.m.
- Friday, December 1, 5 – 6 p.m.
Our annual Lessons and Carols service is Sunday, December 17 at 7:30 p.m. Those who have participated in the sessions will be invited to sing at this service. Ideally, chorister will join all or most of the choir rehearsals on the following evenings:
- December 7, 7:30 – 9
- December 14, 7:30 – 9
There is also a rehearsal before the service of Lessons and Carols at 6:30 on December 17.
There will also be an opportunity to sing at the Christmas Eve service (outdoor carols at 6:45 and during the service at 7:30). If your child is interested in this choral opportunity, please register here by October 19.
