St. Olave’s Anglican Church seeks to appoint a Tenor Section Lead for the 2023-2024 liturgical year, beginning September 7, 2023.
We are a multi-generational parish dedicated to sharing the Gospel through prayer and community. Our music programme supports our liturgical mission by drawing on hymnody and choral repertoire from the Renaissance to the present day. The SATB, semi-professional choir currently consists of 10 members.
Responsibilities include providing musical leadership at Thursday evening rehearsals (7:30 to 9:00) and Sunday morning liturgies (9:30 to approximately 12:00), often as the sole tenor. The choir also sings at several special services throughout the year. The fee is $50/call.
The ideal candidate will display:
- Strong sight-reading and technical skills.
- Experience performing at a high level in a scheduled liturgical context.
- Good personal skills within a small ensemble environment.
- An interest in the liturgical and musical traditions that underpin St. Olave’s.
Familiarity with Anglican worship is an asset.
