Servers
St. Olave’s Servers’ Guild assists the Rector during all services of worship. Servers carrying the processional cross (crucifer), carry torches (acolyte), ring the church bell, read the intercessions and lessons, and, in some cases, help administer Holy Communion. Being a server is an extremely rewarding way to live out the Gospel and to serve St. Olave’s community. To learn more about being a server, please contact the Rector, Rob Mitchell, at rector@stolaves.ca or 416-768-5686 ext. 1.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild is responsible for setting the Lord’s table for the Eucharistic feast, and preparing the Church for special occasions such as baptisms, weddings and funerals. They help add to the visual beauty of our worship services by caring for our Altar hangings and linens, and by arranging flowers for the altar. Members of the guild are scheduled for duty once every four weeks, and they always work in pairs. To learn more about the Altar Guild or enquire about joining, please contact the office at 416-769-5686.
Readers
At most of our services, lessons are read by members of the congregation. If you enjoy bringing scripture to life and would like to volunteer, please email Janice Douglas at craig.janice@rogers.com.
